dear mothlings,
as some of you may know, i have been trying to get off of pills for several months and have been unable to do it on my own — i tried unsuccessfully before the european tour and ended up in the ambulance, which meant i had to continue taking the drugs to avoid seizures or withdrawals.
i have been advised by my psychiatrist to go to a medical detox which doesn’t give me any time to immediately get back on the road.
i want to play shows when i'm in a healthy headspace, instead of putting on a brave face while suffering inside.
my favorite thing about tour is laughing with you and crying with you and hearing your stories because i know how many of you have had similar experiences.
i have lost so much sleep trying to find a way to do both, but it feels like an impossible task to get truly sober with this ticking deadline looming over me.
and i worry there won't be a "me" anymore if i keep going this way.
all tickets will be refunded in full.
and i look forward to seeing you again when i come out on the otherside.
